SCARLETT'S GARDEN has become a sanctuary and escape with a single step outside. That first sight of a garden is what makes landscape design & garden planning so significant. The garden is a place for beautiful garden work and play. The layout of the garden should reflect that. This can be accomplished with all sorts of garden designs from a French formal garden, English country garden, to a more modern California Garden, or simply a small arts-and-crafts garden. In Scarlett's Garden, we draw inspiration from these types of gardens and incorporate certain aspects to create a cohesive coastal look. We strive to achieve a formal yet relaxed space that allows for different moods, experiences and memories to be made. We are sharing our process for how you can do the same in your backyard.

During the design process, we have been collaborating with architects, artists and designers to bring the vision for Scarlett's Garden to life. While that very vision continues to evolve as the garden grows, one thing remains clear: incorporating a natural flow of the indoor garden house with the surrounding green grounds outdoors. In doing so, our approach is to focus on native plants both indoors and outdoors that can complement one another as companions in a way that is unique to our garden while paying homage to their origin.

SG is our home outdoors. Not only do we spend time in the garden growing and maintaining our healthy plants, but we also spend breakfasts under the shady evergreens, time entertaining in the rose garden and hours watching afternoons slip away under the breeze of the hydrangeas.
